Welcome to Art Cotswold, a new art gallery at the heart of Chipping Campden exhibiting decorative works by leading Cotswold artists.
Visitors flock to the pretty villages of the North Cotswolds to admire the ochre limestone and thatched cottages, beautiful landscapes and Arts & Crafts heritage. Continuing in that tradition, our aim is to bring together the very best art the Cotswolds has to offer, all under one roof.
Our small team of arts professionals are passionate about seeking out established and emerging artists from the region, building a community of talent and an exciting programme of exhibitions. Our door is always open, with a warm welcome and eagerness to share our love of the artwork on display.
The Cotswolds spans an area of 2038 km2 all the way from Broadway to Bath, covering 6 counties, each with its own distinct creative culture. Gloucestershire became the main rural centre for the Arts & Crafts movement, notably William Morris and Rossetti leasing Kelmscott Manor alongside Gimson, Sidney and Barnsley who developed a craft community in the south Cotswolds.
Incredibly over 50 families moved to Chipping Campden from London’s East End in 1902 and their legacy is the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen and a region steeped in creativity.
